The varsity football team suffered a loss against number-one-ranked Fallon in its last game of the year.
It was a long game for both teams as Lowry couldn’t get anything going on either side of the ball. There is no denying that one player, Nate Nelson, performed to the coach’s expectations in the catastrophic loss.
Nelson usually plays wide receiver but was forced into action as the quarterback the last couple of weeks of the season. Head coach Taua Cabatbat nominated Nelson for Student-Athlete of the Week.
“We worked well from what we were given, losing kids almost every week hurt us a lot so we had to go throw kids in positions they never played and we did as good as we could with it,” said Nelson.
The Bucks definitely looked a little slow on the field and were having a hard time keeping up with Fallon.
“You could tell the team was down from losing since our success in the past. But no one ever gave up hope and everyone ended the year with their heads held high,” added Nelson.
With that loss to Fallon, the Buckaroos ended with a 1-8 record. The Bucks look to come back next year and work hard.
