Lowry falls short at volleyball regionals

The Lowry varsity volleyball team had a good chance to make it to state this year, but their postseason unfortunately came to a halt by the Dayton volleyball team at Truckee on November 6.

For many, this is their last volleyball game.

“The last game of my volleyball career ended with a loss as we played Dayton,” said senior Ashlee Barron. “I wouldn’t trade this season for anything, we have all been playing together for a very long time and it is sad to see it come to an end. I had a great season with great girls.”

Some of the other players who are not seniors found the game to be a learning experience and are excited for next year’s season.

“When we arrived in Truckee, bad memories took over considering we lost to them in playoffs last year […] We played tough but it wasn’t enough to beat Dayton,” said junior Brooklyn Waller. “I’m proud of my team and I know if we played them again we would win no doubt. It was just an off day for all of us. We’ll earn it back next year.”

The girls had a great season this year. Despite losing their seniors, the team looks forward to next year where they hopefully get past the regionals tournament and advance to the state tournament.
