The 2017 Track season is underway, as some new changes have been made to help the athletes get more wins and become better athletes overall.

The team has acquired many new coaches who will impact the team in a great way and hopefully change the team for the better.

New head coach, Grant Beatty, thinks the new season will be fun and is very excited to work with these track athletes and make them better athletes.

“I think the track season will be fun and exciting. We’ve got some good athletes returning and a coaching staff that is looking forward to working with these athletes. We expect the kids to work hard and be coachable,” said Beatty.

Beatty also mentions what the team will be seeing to help them do better at the meets and improve their personal records.

“Some of the things we will do to make the team better is to really focus on form and technique; we also want to create a more competitive environment. The season should be a success,” said Beatty.

Returning track athlete Shelby Garrison thinks the season will be a good one with new coaching experience, and some upcoming freshmen will be very good for the new season.

“I think the season is going to be good. We have a lot of new coaches and volunteers who have had experience. Also, some of the freshmen look pretty fast, so that should help the team win some meets too,” said Garrison.

This track season has lots of potential to be great with a new coaching staff and huge amounts of athleticism being brought to the track and field this year.

The first track meet will be held on March 11, in Spring Creek.
