In what has become a recurring theme, the Lady Buck golfers finished behind Elko twice in a matter of days.
On its home course, Lowry shot a 396 to Elko’s 379.
However, senior golfer, Savanna Cox, is happy with the team’s performance thus far.
“Golf season could definitely be going better, but I love my team. I think our team is really strong this year. We’ve come in first or second every tournament,” said Cox.
Cox also believes being positive can affect the athlete’s performance and, in doing so, helps not only performance but also makes the sport enjoyable.
“Last tournament, we struggled with our positivity, but I’m still really proud of my team, especially Tatyana Carlson, for shooting an 80,” said Cox. “The improvements I would make if I could are to be more positive when playing and take more time with each shot.”
On Monday in Carson City, Lowry placed second with a 351, which was 10 strokes behind Elko. The ladies are currently in second place behind Elko with 57 points to Elko’s 62.
