McClellan was chosen as Student-Athletes of the Week by softball coach Austin Mayo.
“She is a returning Senior and has been a member of the varsity squad for many years,” said Mayo. “She is a prime example of what a coach wants in a veteran player.”
McClellan is known as a strong third baseman.
“She knows how we, as a program, want our players to behave and act, and is a great example for the younger players,” said Mayo. “On top of all that, she is an excellent player who locks down third base and a key spot in the lineup for us.”
McClellan is proud of her team for making it to state and will miss playing with her former teammates.
“Our season was great. We made it to state, and even though we didn’t win, we were still one of the best teams in the state,” said McClellan. “I am absolutely going to miss the people who made this season so great.”
