Gerardo Magana was chosen Student-Athlete of the Week by coach Joshua Wirthlin for taking soccer seriously and for taking responsibility for his actions.
“Gerardo has a relentless work ethic and the punishment he takes as a goalkeeper after our defense puts him in bad positions, and his communication, he doesn’t stop talking,” said Wirthlin.
Magaña has been playing for a while now and hopes to continue.
“I started when I was young, and I started playing and never stopped,” said Magaña. “I’ve been playing keeper for a while. I like being a striker, but keeper mainly now I’ve been playing it my whole high school career, so I should stick to it.”
