Give the perfect gift this holiday season.

Every three seconds, someone needs blood. The annual blood drive took place on December 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The procedure took about an hour. Blood was donated to help save several people’s lives. With every donation, there was free cholesterol testing.

With everyone in the holiday spirit, FFA held a food drive from November 1 to November 24 to get food to families in need.

“The turnout wasn’t so great, but we tried our best; hopefully, we get more food when leadership hosts a food drive during December, “ said Julia Laird.

The food drive held during November was to get food for Thanksgiving, even though the food drive didn’t turn out as planned, Western Title donated 60 turkeys.

“It was for a great cause, and we are always looking to help others in need,” said Steve Hunt, head of the Winnemucca Branch.

National Honor Society hosted a “ You’ve been raked project”.

“Honor society has groups that will receive a request from someone who tells us about their neighbor or grandma or someone who they think needs help so that we can rake their yard and help them out a little,” said Elise Rose.

Leadership held a food drive throughout the month of December, and they encouraged students to show their holiday spirit and help out. All cans were collected during the fourth period to help families in need of food for a good Christmas dinner.

“The Ministerial Association really depends on us to do this for them,” said Maddie Mayo, Student Body President. “It is always a good cause to help make the less fortunate have food for the holiday season.”

When the town of Winnemucca needs help, we all find a way to come together and help people in a time of need.
