Cross Country athlete Alayla Thompson is a sophomore at Lowry High. Her coach Sergio Cabada chose her as the girls’ cross country Student-Athlete of the Week because she is determined and hard-working.
“She puts in the work each day and is a model for the team,” said Cabada. “She knows the competition, and challenges herself to compete and represent Lowry at a high level.”
Thompson has always been motivated to do cross country and has had a big heart for it.
“It’s just been a passion that I’ve always loved,” said Thompson.
Along with being motivated her favorite part is the entertainment she gets from it.
“It is very entertaining and time-consuming to me,” said Thompson.
Alyla Thompson has her next race in Truckee on Saturday, September 28.
