Anthony Monroy was chosen by Coach Taua Cabatbat as varsity football Student-Athlete of the Week for his work ethic and dedication.
Cabatbat said that Monroy is well deserving and earns all of his accomplishments.
“He did very well in special teams and is very dependable in that aspect as well as stepping in when the team needed him,” said Cabatbat.
Monroy believes that his off-season work can be accredited to his success.
“Hard work is one of my strong suits,” said Monroy. “After practicing all summer it’s good to know that it has been noticed.”
Cabatbat said Monroy has a lot of potential and sees a bright future for him.
“I see his potential while playing football as he is very good at it and I see his hard work,” said Cabatbat.
Monroy uses his spare time to work and achieve greater and better things.
“I spend a lot of time working towards achieving my goals and trying to be better every day,” said Monroy.
Monroy’s teammates have played an influential role in his football career.
“While playing football I’ve created a bond with all my teammates and it makes the experience even more fun,” said Monroy.
