Lowry boys’ golf is headed to Dayton on March 7 for their first league tournament and hopefully the season off in a good way, and set the tone for the rest of the season.
The boys went into the tournament with high hopes of placing and starting their push for state.
Kobe Stoker thought the team played well for their first tournament, but they need to work on some things.
“We did well at Dayton, they say it’s a PGA-level course, and we took 3rd place as a team there. But we have a lot to work on, like course management, staying away from the trees, tough shots, and water hazards. But I think are season will be fun, it’s going to be a great adventure with some ups and downs, but we will have to power through it and we will be fine,” said Stoker.
In this tournament, Dillon Patterson led Lowry with an 86, then behind him were Steven Bosch with an 87, Zane Fifield with an 88, and then Peyton Capellen with an 89.
The golfer’s third-place finish put them in place for state, and the day after, they went to Fernley for another tournament, and they placed third again, keeping them in a state position.
The Lowry Boys ‘ next tournament is on April 4 in Fallon.
