Freshman David Becerra works hard on the field, and coach Octavio Ruiz recognized him for his dedication. Becerra has earned a starting spot in varsity soccer.
“David is a freshman starter who is resilient and optimistic in every minute of the field,” said Ruiz.
Not only does Ruiz see Beccerra’s potential, but he also acknowledges his perseverance to try new things and grow as a player.
“David is a passionate player and is always willing to try new things at practices and in games,” said Ruiz. “This helps him push himself out of his comfort level which has allowed him to grow.”
Becerra’s love for the game has come from spending time with his friends and playing a sport.
“What makes me enjoy soccer the most is getting to play the sport I love with my friends,” said Becerra.
Having a good relationship with his teammates and his coach is important to Becerra.
“My relationship with my coach and my teammates is good and we joke around with each other,” said Becerra.
