The FFA horse judging team is hosting a tri-tip dinner on October 17 to fundraise money to cover their expenses for their trip to Louisville, KY. The team will be representing Nevada at the 2015 National FFA Convention.
One of the girls on the horse judging team, Shauna Smith, explained how horse judging works.
“We evaluate eight classes made up of four horses, and we place each class with the best horse with the best qualities on top, and from there down. Later, we will prepare at least four sets of reasons, which is a mini-speech we have to give a judge explaining why we placed the class the way we did,” said Smith.
The tri-tip dinner will be at the Winnemucca Events Center. A dinner will cost $20.00 for an adult and $10.00 for a child (0-10). The dinner will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
