Winnemucca’s FFA team competed at state last month at the University of Reno and managed to place in more than eight events.
Heather Hall, a sophomore, placed third in High Individual for Horse Judging and second, based on the tiebreaker, for her chapter in Horse Judging.
“I honestly had no idea that I would get third place out of all of them. I was shocked,” said Hall.
The placing was judged on the tests and activities the chapters had to take at State. Hall was one of many students to get awards in both team and individual competitions. The fact that many competitions had up to 35 teams including B and C Teams made the performance more impressive.
The following attended State FFA: Jacy Urain, Diamond Castillo, Kerstin Christiansen, Ale Cruz, Maddi Hammargren, Hattie Michael, Makayla Leveille, Alison Aitken, Heather Hall, Dacotah Anelli, Taylie Hoyt, Breanna Ramirez, Rylee Schomer, Weston Noyes, Cody Noyes, Matt Garrison, Heath Hall, Cody Lewis, Daimon Urrutia, Hunter Christiansen, Eric Venzor, Will Rand, Manuel Gomez, and Cade Bell.
