For Lady Bucks the cause is bigger than the game

On October 8, Lowry’s varsity girls soccer team faced the Greenwave for their Pink Game. Lady Bucks were helping to support not just breast cancer but any cancer. The game was to help support Liam in his path to kick cancer’s butt. They held a fundraiser for Liam and the Meyer family.

When Liam was fighting hard, so were the ladies, but it wasn’t enough. They kept the game to little to no points, but Fallon came out fighting and scored a lucky goal. Then another lucky goal came from Fallon to put them up 2-0. Then the Lady Bucks answered with a beautiful goal from Audrey Snow over the top of the keeper to add a point to the scoreboard.

Although they fought all the way to the end of the game, they came out with nothing to show for it.

Hailey Hinkle said, “At halftime, the team was pretty upset, but we still all fought until the end and still put a ball in the net.”

Hinkle also added some improvements that need to be made coming out of this game.

“We need to work on passing the ball to players instead of expecting players to chase a pass,” Hinkle said.

Hinkle mentioned some improvements the team has overcome throughout the season so far.

“The team has improved on communication and connecting our passes throughout the season,” said Hinkle.

Overall, the ladies are 3-6-1 on the season and travel to North Tahoe next for their next match.
