On Thursday, September 17 the Lowry freshman football team celebrated their first win of the season when they beat Wooster 52-0.
Coach Austin Mayo, was very proud of the win for this team.
“You know I think it (the game) went really well. We were finally able to put four corners together and I think the score showed that. It showed everyone what we’re capable of doing,” said Mayo.
With a big win like this, there were a few stand-out players on the team.
“I don’t know if I can pick a single stand-out player. Raymond Orzech, had two rushing touchdowns and a pick-six. Scottie Smith had a pick-six and a receiving touchdown,” Mayo said.
But with a win like this Mayo said that it was ultimately a team effort.
“But all in all, the D line played great, the O line played great. It was an all-around team effort,” Mayo added.
The next freshman game is on Thursday, September 24 against Lovelock.
