The freshmen boys got off to a rocky start this season but ended up finishing the season strong because of good coaching and great execution of offenses and defenses by the players. The team improved a lot from their 8th grade season and that showed up in the win column.
“It was a great season and we definitely improved a lot. With the help of our coaches, we went from a team that won just two games last year to having a 13 and 8 record this season,” said Brayden Jensen.
The team struggled throughout the season to score and at times get rebounds, in several games, they were just outworked and were never given a chance.
“Our biggest weakness was our inability to work as a team, instead of supporting someone when they missed a layup or had a bad turnover our team, would just get really frustrated with that person. Towards the end of the season though, there were some improvements in this area and it showed on the court,” explained Jensen.
While the Freshmen Boys did have some minor weaknesses they were very good at getting out on fast breaks and were for the most part always competitive.
While the season had its ups and downs overall it was a successful year for the freshmen boys who fought until the end in every game. There is still plenty to be excited about and next year on JV the freshmen are shaping up to be a formidable opponent.
