Girls varsity basketball loses to Reno High School

On December 6, the girl’s varsity basketball team went to Reno High and lost a lopsided affair to the Huskies 57-22.

“We realized what we all needed to work on as individuals and as a team. We didn’t do all that great, and there is definitely room to improve. We need to work better as a team and work on the little things. It was a good eye-opener to what the team needs to work on,” said Kylee McClellan.

McClellans’ teammate, Jilian Albright, echoed those sentiments.

“Reno is good, there is no question about that. There were coaches from Duke watching McGuires so you can see they are a legitimate team. We did play pretty hard against them, but I know we could’ve done better. We were getting lazy and shooting shots that weren’t there,” said Jillian Albright. “We’ve been working to fix that at practice and conditioning more. I think that if we were to play them again, it would be a much better game. It was a huge eye open for us because we know what we need to work on and that we need to give 110% at all times.”

The girls will have a game at Lowry on Friday, December 19 at 5 p.m. against South Tahoe.
