The girl’s varsity team had a successful homecoming week drawing Churchill County on Tuesday 1-1 and defeating Sparks 2-1 on Saturday. They maintain their 5th place position in the league and are posed to jump into the 4th place spot and get into the playoffs.

The Bucks played Fallon looking to get some points and unfortunately did not get the three they hoped for but did pick up one in the intense draw. Fallon took the lead early in the first half, but the Bucks eventually responded back with a goal late in the game to pick up the 1-1 draw.

Lowry went to Sparks Saturday and was determined to get the win. Again the opposing team scored early in the first half and the Bucks would have to come from behind yet again. Lowry tied up the game in the second half when freshman Bailey Sapien went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and scored. The second goal came from Monique Rodriquez when she broke away and slotted the ball into the bottom corner with twenty minutes of the game remaining. The Bucks held on to the lead and went on to win 2-1.

Junior Brittany Partee thinks the team is heading in the right direction.

“The season is going really well. We’re working well as a team. We just need to work on our shooting.” said defender Partee.

The Bucks now sit on a 3-3-2 record. They are determined to improve that record and secure a playoff spot through the remainder of the season.
