The sophomores held a chess tournament during fourth period. There were 13 players who competed at the chess championship. The Tournament started on December 15 and ended on December 19. The sophomores were Chaz Anderson, Monsea Avila, Rylee Bell, Marlly Bremer, Alyssa Dowell, Isaac Guariglia, Chelsea Guest, Michon Hernandez, Hugo Lopez, Tyler Mcgee, Gus Munoz, Cayla Quinones, and Scott Schelling.
The winner was Hugo Lopez. Lopez will receive a trophy from Principal Ray Parks. The chessboard and game pieces were donated by Mr. Warren Pugh.

The total prize money, including the trophy, was $100.00.
