Cheating in the school system is growing more prevalent with easy-to-access websites on school computers and apps on student’s phones. These tools for cheating range from things such as “Socratic”, “Mathway”, “Wolfram Alpha”, “Slader”, “123helpme.com” and “Homework Helper”. Students benefit from these sources to give them the edge to pass their classes with ease. These sites and apps give students a wide variety of answers and step-by-step work and many more students take advantage of these resources in class. Students who cheat are only getting the answers and are not going through the learning process like students should do.
Students nowadays just want to graduate from school and live their lives free from the constraints of keeping their grades up and having good attendance.
High school can be tough to graduate from especially if the material is hard to grasp. Students who cheat are only getting the answers and are not going through the learning process like students should do.
As adolescents grow older in their ability to learn and age-wise they tend to lose faith in their ability to pass class or get their work done. This however isn’t necessarily true for all students. Pressured into passing their classes students take the initiative and get the best grades possible to pass just to get out of school. This gives them a reason to cheat on assignments and plagiarize work from authors to write English essays or even a research paper for a History class. This is very unethical as many authors’ and professors’ works are stolen only to never be cited properly or given credit by the students themselves. Colleges and other schools require good grades and some even a 4.0 GPA to enter. These universities can range from those of The Ivy League such as Stanford and Harvard University. When students want to enter these schools or universities they will do anything to get in and cheat to better their own gain and not learn the proper way like everyone should be.
When all is said and done and the students happen to get accepted into a college or say a branch of the military, they will most likely not know any of the material that is taught. Having a high school diploma and staying in school is necessary to enter the military, but some branches require a higher level of education. Students will only then evolve into cheating more until they get busted and expelled from the school or the military for plagiarizing work or in general steal answers from their fellow classmates.
Morally it’s better if students take the honest path and develop a trustworthy relationship with their teachers. This in turn can help to benefit their education as the teacher will be more willing to provide assistance to the honest student rather than the students who cheat. In the end don’t take the easy path in life, as it’s better to learn the way everyone else does as this can make you learn more not only from your classes but about your own abilities as an individual.
