Auto CTE student Donovan Walker has been selected as student of the week by Ms. Montero for his helpfulness and being a major inspiration for others.

“He takes the initiative to help out in the shop without being told,” said Montero. “Donovan inspires others by coming up with new projects and makes me laugh most every day in class.”

When asked what sparked his interest in auto CTE, Walker mentioned his love for dirt bikes and his interest in motor vehicles.

“I’ve just ridden dirt bikes my whole life,” said Walker. “I’ve always kind of been interested in motors and how to fix it myself, instead of paying a lot of money for someone else to do it.”

Walker remarked that his favorite experience in auto CTE was fixing a quad last year with his friends.

“As of right now, I think I really enjoyed taking a quad down with one of my buddies,” said Walker. “He brought it in last year before, and we just took it down, took it apart, and fixed the engine.”

Toward the end of his high school experience, Walker advises future auto CTE students to stay in the class and never give up.

“Just stick with it, don’t give up, and really put your head down and grind because it’s not going to come to you easily,” said Walker.

According to Ms. Montero, Walker is a talented and helpful student, which is why he was chosen.

“Donovan Walker is in my Auto CTE class,” said Montero. “He is usually found in the shop working on his own car but also helps other students with their projects.”
