Lowry’s JV boys’ basketball team went to Fernley on December 10 to face the Vaqueros. They came into the game knowing it wouldn’t be easy, as they had played them in previous years, losing and winning back and forth.
The boys lost in the second overtime, 74-69, to the Vaqueros. The game went back and forth for all four quarters, then led to two overtimes where the Vaqueros came out on top. Kyle Sappington, JV basketball player, thought they could have done better, but overall, they played very well.
“We played very well together and throughout the whole game, but we just couldn’t keep up the intensity as we went into the 2nd overtime and gave up a few baskets in the end to lose the game,” said Sappington.
Sappington also thinks the season is going really well, and they are putting together games and getting wins.
“I think the season is going very well and the team is working well together and putting together all four quarters, which is leading to solid games and wins,” said Sappington.
The boys play again on January 13 against Dayton and on January 14 against South Tahoe.
