The girls’ JV basketball team traveled to Reno last Saturday for a scrimmage against Proctor Hug High School. Hug is a big school with advanced players, so the girls had competition, but as always, they came out on top, 43-11. What a great start to the season for this talented group of girls.
“I think we’re a little rusty but it’s early in the season, so we have a lot of room for improvement. I have high hopes for this season, we have a strong team and it will be a great season,” said McKenna Jones.
All of the girls are ready for the season and ready to win it all. Their next tournament The High Sierra Winter Challenge is in Reno. They play against Carson and McQueen on Thursday, December 4.
“I believe my team will come together and perform great things with each other. We will show hard work and dedication that will get us to where we want to be,” said player Brooklyn Waller
Only two freshmen made the JV girl’s team; Kyllie Sappington and Alyssa Kuskie.
“It’s different being one of the only freshmen on the team, but it will make me a better player,” said Kyllie Sappington.
