Over the weekend Lowry JV baseball team traveled to Dayton and swept the doubleheader from the Dust Devils. The final scores were 14-3 and 7-6.
Both of the games played the team saw something they needed to work on.
“In our first game, we needed to eliminate a lot of errors that we made on the field and we did so in the second game. But throughout both games, we had trouble batting, their pitchers were slow and our timing was early,” said captain Ren Mattson.
Even though they needed to work on their skills as a team, they managed to do some things that worked for them which gave them the pair of wins.
“The team played well together and limited our mistakes, but it was our communication that I think gave us the wins,” said captain Riley Sakurada.
“I was proud of how we came together and played hard even though we were short a few players. We had a few players play new positions but we had fun with it and played a good couple of ball games as a team,” said captain Emilio Duarte.
The boys play at home on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16. Friday’s game starts at 3 p.m. and the first game Saturday starts at 11 a.m.
