Lowry Leadership recently released the schedule for Homecoming 2016, October 3-8. The week will take on an 80s movie theme with dress-up days such as Pretty in Pink and Back to the Future.
“I am super excited for Homecoming Week. I’ve been wanting this theme since freshman year, and to have it as my last homecoming theme is super exciting. The theme is something that not only the students can relate to, but also the teacher. Which I think is going to make for a super fun week,” said Tiana Herrera.
All sports will be in action so there will be plenty of opportunities to see Buckaroo athletes in action.
The week kicks off with a pep assembly and will culminate with the dance on Saturday from 8-11 p.m.
Monday night there will be a parade from the bowling alley to to the lower parking lot. It will begin at 6 p.m. and lead to the annual Powder Puff football game which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday morning and will start off with Senior Sunrise at 5:45 a.m. on the football field. That night the He-Man volleyball tournament will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday is a big day starting off with the final pep assembly. At halftime of the varsity football game on Friday night homecoming royalty will be crowned and the Grand Marshal will be announced.
Saturday night is the big homecoming dance.
Student body president, Annaleise Gabica, is expecting a great turnout for the week.
“I think the theme for homecoming this year is super cool, so I’m excited to see how the school is going to be decked out,” said Gabica.
Have a fun week Lowry and remember, “Elko’s cruisin’ for a bruisin’ because the Bucks won’t be losin’!”
