High school leadership students wanted to find a way to keep the Magic of Satna Claus alive for the younger generations. They took the approach of the Santa Project, which involves leadership kids writing letters from Santa to the children they will respond to. Leadership student Dylan Martin believes that the Santa Project is very beneficial and provides some entertainment for children.

“The elementary school kids like it and it’s something I don’t mind doing,” said Martin.

Another student, Tristan Vankirk, enjoys the opportunity to use his leadership skills in order to spread some fun around the town of Winnemucca.

“This is a successful project to spread leadership throughout the town and our community,” said Vankirk.

Julia Topholm has observed the impacts of this project on the community. Little kids are being helped and that is something that motivates leadership advisor, Julia Topholm, to continue the project every year.

“The impact that it has on some of our elementary kids they get excited because they still believe in Christmas and getting to hear about what the elves do,” said Topholm.

Audrey Sanchez is another leadership student who believes the project has various benefits to the community. It offers something fun that spreads holiday joy throughout.

“I like the Santa project because it’s a fun and beneficial way to spread joy throughout the community,” said Sanchez.
