The varsity boy’s basketball team traveled to Fallon this past weekend to participate in the Northern 1A Regional tournament.

On Friday, the Bucks faced the Spring Creek Spartans, who earlier in the year defeated Lowry by a buzzer-beater. After the first quarter the Bucks were down by 13 points and came back in the next quarter to tie at 26. After halftime the team came out and finished what they started.

“We wanted to win that game more than them, we weren’t going to finish the season like that. Our team came together and made things happen, people got open and we were stealing the ball,” said senior Chris Tyree.

In the semi-finals, Lowry proved that they were ready for this game and came out ready to play and beat the Spartans 66-57, securing their spot in the state tournament.

In the championship game, the Bucks faced Elko for seeding at state. At halftime, Lowry was down 19-15, but fell short and couldn’t quite keep it together on the court, losing 55-31.

Although the Bucks, lost at regionals they will face Clark at Silverado High School on Friday at 8 p.m.
