Lowry track travels to Las Vegas for State Meet

Lowry’s track team competed in the Nevada State Championships in Las Vegas on May 15-16.

Head coach Shaun Murgel was happy with his team’s performance.

We had a pretty good state meet. All the kids came down ready to compete and did their best,” said Murgel.

Jumper and sprinter Jillian Albright thought they did well.

”All in all, the track meet went really well. I was a little nervous but it was a lot of fun. I placed fourth place in the triple jump the 4×400 meter relay with Kenadee Jeppsen, Hailey Hinkle, and Shelby Garrison and I got fifth place in the long jump. Lowry did fairly well, we had an awesome group make it. it was an amazing season,” said Albright.

Lowry’s Girls came in 10th place overall. Lowry’s Madison Montero got sixth place in the 200 meters with Auri Criddle coming in 7th place. In the 100-meter hurdles, Criddle came in the 8th place. Jeppsen came in 6th place in the 300-meter hurdles. Lowry’s relay team, Monique Rodriguez, Criddle, Audrey Snow, and Madison Montero, placed 6th place in the 4×100 relay and 5th place in the 4×200 hundred Relay. Lowry’s relay team, Albright, Jeppsen, Hinkle, and Garrison came in 4th place in the 4×400 relay. Jillian Albright finished in 5th place in the long jump and 4th place in the triple jump.

Lowry’s boys came in 23rd place overall Lowry’s Roberto Sanchez came in 8th place in the triple jump.
