It was a good sunny day for the Cross Country runners during their race last Friday.

According to coach Kristen Flanders, many of the Lowry runners either set a personal record or are just doing great overall for the season.

“I think the best highlights were that everyone did so well. If they didn’t do a personal best, they did one for the season,” Flanders said.

Coach Flanders chose one person from this race that she chose to spotlight. That runner is Will Kracaw.

“Will Kracaw just keeps getting better and better. He pushed and pushed and ran a 17.28,” Flanders said.

Will Kracaw set a personal record for himself this last race with a time of 17.28.

“I think I’m doing well. I’m doing better than last year, so that’s good,” Kracaw said.

This year seems to be a good year for the Lowry Cross Country team.

Rebecca Kuskie said, “I think we’re doing really well this year. The freshmen are posting fast times. Most of us are getting PR’s.”

Even though the team seems to be really satisfied with the season this year, there are always improvements to be made.

“We have a little bit of a challenge ahead of us for the state, but we’re getting better and better each week,” said Flanders.

The Lowry runners will be back in action in Elko on Thursday, October 13.
