As Lowry rolls into the 2014-2015 school year new faces can be seen around campus.

“I expect to have a great year. It is going to be busy and I am going to be learning as much sometimes as the students are being a new teacher, but it’s going to be fun and a great experience. I want to set the tone for years to come,” said math teacher Austin Mayo.

New administrators include Mr. Ray Parks as the new principal and Mr. Tim Connors will be in and out of classes, as he fills the Vice Principal and Athletic Director spots.

“I hope to see more academic success. I want to see my students enjoy learning and have fun as they are excelling and advancing in their school work,” said English teacher Miranda Santos.

Six teaching spots have been filled as well. Mr. Austin Mayo and Mr. Adam Sorenson are now a part of the math program. Mr. David Dunham and Mrs. Miranda Santos can be seen in the English department. Mrs. Angella Cook is the new special education teacher and Mr. Greg Scott is the new science and CTE teacher.

“Besides my quick wit, good looks, and charm I plan to bring a new and refreshing attitude to the math department. What I really hope for is that the students see me as someone who really does care whether they succeed or not, and that I am here to help them out and not just with math but with their education as a whole,” said Mayo.

Mrs. Cherese Fifield is the new school nurse. Mrs. Gloria Avila, Mrs. Nicole Cochrane, Mrs. Lindsey Galarza, and Mrs. Roxanne Hardy are all new aides. The campus police officer, Chukuma Jones, is new to Lowry as well. Finally, Marilynn Durr is part of the custodial staff. The new faculty is planning to make this school year one to remember.
