This April Lowry will be hosting a Sadie Hawkins dance, which is when the girls ask the guys to the dance. The person with the best proposal will win movie tickets, dinner, and bowling passes. To show off your proposal you need to post a video or picture to Instagram or Twitter using #Lowrysadies2k15.
“Leadership decided to do this dance because we thought it would be something fun and new. Not too many students know what a Sadie Hawkins dance is and we decided it would be good for everyone to experience it,” said Cecily Snow.
The Sadies dance comes from the comic strip Li’l Abner, where the non-married women went after bachelors in the town of Dogpatch, and would marry them.
The dance is on April 11 at 8 p.m. in the new gym.
