There are many times to sing, but just not in public. The only reason you should ever sing in public if it is the appropriate time to. If you’re singing the national anthem, if everyone else is singing (at a concert), or if you’re trying to make a living and you are on a sidewalk with your guitar case open for people to give you money.
When I am walking in the hallways or trying to do my work in class and you suddenly decide to be Rihanna, I will not be clapping for an encore because this is school and not “The X Factor”.
There are many times for you to sing like in the shower, in your car, in your room, and in church, but not school. School is not an okay place to sing and it is full of judgmental people that will hate on you for singing, like I am right now.
Plus, why do you feel the need to sing in the hallways? There is never a moment when I am walking down the hallway and I think “Do you know what all my peers would love right now? If I sing ’Bad Romance’ on full blast right now.”
So, remember if you ever feel the need to sing in public, don’t.
