The Student-Athlete of The Week for the week of March 20- 23 is Hayden Jeppsen of the Boys’ Track and Field team. He is a senior who participates in distance events such as the 3200m race and relay races such as the 4×800 race.

He has received the honor of Student-Athlete of The Week for his outstanding accomplishments during recent track meets at Spring Creek, Elko, and Yerington. At Spring Creek, he placed 8th in the 3200m race, almost breaking the 12-minute barrier. At Elko, it can be assumed he managed to break that barrier, earning him the coveted title of Student-Athlete of The Week.

His current speed record for the 3200m run as of the Yerington meet is 11:16.20. He is on the 4×800 relay team along with Devin Dowd, Jonathan Madrid, and Chris Kearns. This team’s record for this event as of the Yerington meet is 9:29.46. Expectations are high for this spectacular athlete to continue shattering records.

Hayden, when asked about his performance, reported that he was feeling “awesome”, and we would expect no less than that from the young man as he continues to shatter records.
