This week’s Student-Athlete of the Week is Megan Cook, who was chosen by the JV basketball coach, Lynnsey Johnson.

Cook has been playing basketball for years. She has also played a variety of different positions.

Cook said, “I play everywhere on the court from the point guard to the biggest post on the court sometimes.”

Coach Johnson emphasized Cook’s recent successes.

“I chose Megan because she had a really good weekend against Elko and Spring Creek,” said Johnson.

Johnson went into detail on Cook’s selflessness as a teammate.

Johnson stated, “She is always more concerned about her teammates than she is herself.”

Johnson revealed Cook’s accomplishments this basketball season.

“She has really improved on her guard skills,” said Johnson. “She has had to make a transition from post to guard this season, and she has done extremely well.”

Cook is determined and is always focused on expressing concerns and asking questions to learn the most she can about the game.

Cook is a multi-sport athlete and still puts effort into excelling in academics.

Johnson said, “She is a very good student. I know she plays multiple sports, and I know that she tries to dedicate as much time as she can to every sport that she plays.”

Cook has grown to love her team and the inner workings of the team this season.

“My favorite thing about the season is the chemistry with the team, and everyone gets along,” said Cook.
