This week’s Student-Athlete of the Week is Sierra Maestrejuan, who was chosen by the varsity volleyball coach Skylar Estes.
Maestrejuan played a significant role on the team this year.
“Sierra has amazing court sense and was able to help direct the team if needed, without always having to make the little corrections,” said Estes. “She took on the role to help out there so I could be focused on the bigger issues happening on the court.”
Maestrejuan is a very determined and supportive teammate.
“Her hustle and hunger to always get to a ball spread throughout our team and made everyone work harder,” said Estes.

Maestrejuan has been playing volleyball from a young age and has had a love for the sport from the very start.
“I have been playing volleyball as a part of a team since seventh grade, but on my own before that,” said Maestrejuan. “I started watching my mom play co-ed league, and I fell in love with it from there.”
After this season, Maestrejuan plans on continuing and pursuing her volleyball career at a college level.
“I would love to play at the next level, and I have been looking into it while talking to some coaches,” said Maestrejuan.
Going out with a bang on their last game against Fallon was Sierra’s highlight of her last high school volleyball game.
“My favorite part of this season would have to be winning our last game,” said Maestrejuan.
