On Saturday, October 13, Lowry JV boys faced off against the Truckee Wolverines.
The game started really well for the JV boys. In the first five minutes, Zach Fernandez scored against the Wolverines from an assist by Brandon Lee.
The Bucks held a tough defense for the first ten minutes of the first half, but Truckee outlasted the Bucks by scoring three goals in the first half. At halftime, the score was 3-1 with the Wolverines on top.
Truckee came out and was determined to make it a good game.
“Truckee came out and played a good, aggressive game. We gave back everything that they gave us,” said coach Vanessa Kestle. “We took every shot on goal we could and continued with good passes and communication. It was a good game.”
Truckee started the second half on top of Lowry 3-1. The Bucks had a good defense starting out the second half, not letting Truckee score. Daniel Fernandez had some quality offensive plays. Truckee started the second half fired up and gave the Bucks a difficult job on defense. The Wolverines kept the ball on their side of the field for most of the second half.
Truckee made the score 4-1 in the 60th minute.
Lowry held the Wolverines from scoring for most of the remaining game. But Truckee scored a goal in the 70th minute, bringing the score to 5-1.
