Justin Bouldt, a University of Nevada, Reno Admittance Counselor, came to give upperclassmen the insight of what UNR is all about on Tuesday, September 11.
“This presentation has really broadened my choices of where I would like to go after graduation. I wasn’t planning on attending UNR until I got an insight of what it had to offer,” said junior Victoria Jacinto.
He mentioned the university’s founding; including the fact that it was founded on October 12, 1874, and the state-of-the-art facilities. There are also upcoming buildings that will make the university even more of a great experience for its students.
One of the existing features is located in the Getchell Library known as the Mathewson Automated Retrieval System (MARS). MARS is a robot that brings books to library patrons.
Bouldt mentioned 200 and more clubs that are available to every student, the free pass into the Wolf Pack games, and whiteboard-painted walls in dorms and student areas.
UNR is also known as a Tier One university that has the sixth largest University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) in the country. That’s an opportunity to familiarize myself with another culture other than one’s own.
According to Bouldt’s presentation, there are only going to be more opportunities for the upcoming classes. For the admittance process, there are plenty of available scholarships, grants and financial aid that will be given to students appropriately.
