Valencia leads Bucks to playoffs

Erick Valencia has excelled on the football field this season.

CoachTaua Cabatbat picked Erick Valencia for Student-Athlete of the Week. He thought Valencia had a role of being a leader.

“Erick is an unselfish player who never complains and will be the first to complement his teammates when he does well,” said Cabatbat.

The coach also praised Erick for setting a strong example for others.

“I believe Erick is a good role model for all athletes when it comes to working hard, being prepared, and being a team player,” said Coach Taua Cabatbat.

Valencia expressed appreciation for the recognition he’s received.

“I am grateful for getting Athlete of the Week,” said. Erick Valenica. ”Some of the things I’m most proud of are always having my teammates back and encouraging them.”

Despite the accolades, Valencia is still focused on reaching his personal goals.

“I haven’t achieved any of the goals I had this year, but the season is not over yet,” said Valenica.

Looking ahead, he shared thoughts on the team’s potential and his own growth.

“I feel like our team is good when we are all healthy and all put 100 percent on the field. I could improve on looking at things in a positive way instead of a negative way,” said Valencia.

When asked about a favorite moment, Erick didn’t hesitate to highlight a personal and heartfelt experience.

“My favorite football memory is when my family got to sit on the sidelines and watch me play,” said Valencia.
