Earlier this month Lowry varsity baseball had a chance to put the team out there and get some experience for the upcoming season at a tournament in Lovelock. March 5-7 the team traveled over to Lovelock to compete against four schools.

The boys started off the weekend a little rough with a loss against Pershing County, 5-3. The next morning they brought their all in the game against Carlin and finished with their first win of the season, 11-4. That next day they had another great game against Battle Mountain, putting another win on their record, 6-5. Later that day the Bucks played Sparks and ended with a loss, 13-5. The Bucks learned a lot that weekend with their first competitive play of the season.

“We need to know the situations, where the runners are on base, to be aggressive at the base and swing the bat,” said Jayson Smith.

The boys look forward to a fulfilling season. Their next game is Friday, March 20 at home against Elko.
