Things were heating up in the World Baseball Classic. As USA dominated Puerto Rico, they moved on to the second round of the tournament. The U.S. won, 7-1. The USA faces the Dominican Republic in a game to decide who goes to the championship round which will be held in San Francisco in 2 days on March 17-18.
Japan and the Netherlands already moved on to the championship round. The winner of the Italy and Puerto Rico game along with the winner of the USA and Dominican game will move on to the championship round which is also the semi-finals of the tournament.
The two teams that will be competing for the championship game are USA and Japan. Team Japan has won the World Baseball Classic for the last two tournaments. And the way that they have been playing this tournament, the Japan team will not have a problem making it to the championship. Team USA brought together some of MLB’s greatest current players to represent the United States. Some stars such as Shane Victorino, Eric Hosmer and Jimmy Rollins.
