Varsity boy’s soccer looks to improve

As the season continues, the varsity boy’s soccer team hopes to improve before their next game against Fernley after a long week of upsets.

“We need to work on our communication and our passing. We also need to work on our finishing because we had many opportunities to score but were unable to put the ball in the back of the net,” said senior Levi Lloyd.

Most players agree that there are some personal things that need to be worked on.

Ariel Gutierrez said that staying calm and his passing is what he will be working on before the matchup with the Vaqueros.

This past week the boys lost at home to Elko 3-1, then lost to Truckee and Sparks on the road 4-1 and 3-0. Although the Bucks had a rough week, some good things on the field happened.

“We understand each other and the way we all play. We are making good connections on the field,” said Gutierrez.

“There were a few defensive errors which led to goals, but overall the defense did a great job. We played as a team and never gave up,” added Lloyd.

The Buckaroos are currently sitting in 6th in the North with an overall record of 4-6-1 and 3-4-1 in league play.
