This week’s Student-Athlete of the Week is Casalyn Perkinson. She was chosen by swim coach Shelby Ruff for her hard work and accomplishments.
“As a freshman,” said Ruff, “she’s done two meets and already made regional times in the 200 individual medley, which is kind of an unpopular event.”
Furthering Perkinson’s accomplishment is her coachable attitude.
“Casalyn generally has a pretty positive attitude,” Ruff said. “She is willing to do whatever I ask her to do. She’s often nervous about her events, but generally performs pretty well.”
Perkinson works hard towards her accomplishments every day in practice.
“Casalyn is one of those athletes who is constantly monitoring herself and working on her strokes,” said Ruff. “She’s always asking questions about how to get better, and is just really focused on improving herself.”
