This year’s freshman volleyball season has officially come to an end. This was a new team with new players, so for never played together before, the Lady Bucks had a successful season.

The Lady Bucks have done well, according to coach Skylar Estes. They started off the season having to do a brand new offense and defense, but luckily the team was able to pick up on it quickly and didn’t have any problems with the positions.

“The main focus was right coverage for hitting and blocking, which they have successfully done, making them able to continue plays and rallies,” said Estes.

The girls had their ups and downs with winning and losing games.

“Our team tried our hardest, and we were able to get really good plays and win games,” said Lauren Fentress. “Our coach was really good and really taught us how to play and grow as players and teammates. This season was a good one, and I wouldn’t change a thing.”

According to Mackenzie Begay, their home game against Truckee was one of their best games.

“It was a tough match, but we played our best,” said Begay.

The girls have overall improved throughout the season.

“They have been able to get better at serving and hitting, gaining the skills needed to become effective JV players for next year,” said Estes.
