On December 16, linebacker Domonic Vanosdall will be traveling to Texas to participate in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl. This is an event where young football athletes like Domonic register to receive national exposure and increase their chances of securing scholarships. These athletes will be tested on several of their skills, which include bench max reps of 185, 40-yard dash, and shuttle run time.
Vanosdall said that he felt out of his comfort zone, but he knows this would be a great opportunity to get scholarships as college coaches attend and watch the game. He has had a lifelong dream of playing in college and professionally.
“I have been looking forward to playing for Washington if I were to get into the NFL, and the schools that I would be trying to apply for are Boise State and Montana State University,” said Vanosdall.
Vansdoll said that he hopes to go to college and get a chiropractic degree.
According to head football coach Taua Cabatbat, Domonic’s work ethic separates him from his teammates and helps him succeed on the field.
“He always improved,” said Cabatbat. “There wasn’t one specific thing; his work ethic and his dedication to what he wants to do helped him improve not only as a person and as a teammate.”
Coach Tyrell Lucas describes what things Domonic improved on throughout the season and how his work ethic contributed to helping him be successful.
“He improved a lot on his technique,” said Lucas. “So he has a good work ethic, but he used his work ethic to actually learn his position better and to do things at a better, consistent rate.”
About 100 kids from all over the nation will participate in the game. This is the third and final combine for Vanosdall, and the process started during his junior year. The first event was in Utah, and the second was in Las Vegas. This final is a three-day event in Dallas.
Note: At press time, results from Vanosdall’s game were not available.
