Seven talented choir and band students were picked to go to Las Vegas, April 16-18, on the UNLV campus to perform. This is not an easy feat, and the students will be challenged even more as they will be scored based on their singing, scales, and several other factors. The talented students who are going to the state are Shannon Munk, Matthew Munk, Andy Rodrigues, Chanse McAllister, Eddie Sanchez, and Tanner Ames.
“It is fun to see how they improve from the first to the last day,” said band teacher Paul Criddle.
Being part of the Lowry band and choir is challenging because the students have to learn how to read different notes, learn how to play different instruments, and know new songs well enough to perform them in front of a huge audience, or in this case, a strict panel of judges.
“I love the musical experience and getting the privilege to sing with some amazing singers,” said Shannon Munk.
