Ever need a welding job done? Well, Jacob Lopez from Carwil is the man to go to for all your welding/fitting needs.
To be able to get this job at Carwil, Lopez had to go to a technical school for three years, where he took Industrial Maintenance. At Carwil, many workers start out as assistants or helpers and work their way up the line. This allows for more experience to be able to do harder projects.
“There is always the possibility to grow here,” said Lopez.
Lopez has been working with Carwil for three years now and has enjoyed his time. Before he came to work for them, he worked at many different companies as a welder. The pay is alright, but how much you are paid and the bonuses that you earn all depend on what your skills are and how long you have been with that company.
According to indeed.com, on average, a normal welder/fitter makes around $40,000 a year. This is mainly for someone who has come out of college and is just starting a career in welding.
Lopez has loved the idea of welding since he was a child.
“Since I was a kid, I liked everything that was welding; watched my older brother doing some welding at home, with a little 110v welding machine. That inspired me to become a welder,” said Lopez.
When it comes down to family, issues with spending time with one another, there are none. So working as a welder allows him to be home with his family if needed.
“I enjoy my profession a lot,” said Lopez.
