There’s a new face walking around Lowry this year. You may see him peeping into your classroom or wandering the halls, and there’s a good chance you will see him at the upcoming games. If you don’t recognize this man yet, it is Mr. Tim Connors.
Connors was born in Butte, Montana, but raised in Glasgow, Montana. In high school, Connors was a superb athlete. He participated in football, basketball, and baseball. He also coached college football, but it was not athletics that brought him here today.
Connors found himself in Nevada for a new job that also paid well. Inevitably, he found himself in the education department.
“Being a teacher is very rewarding because it is great to see kids excel,” said Connors.
Connors has some big ideas for Lowry this year.
One of the most noticeable changes this year is the thirty-minute lunches. When Connors was asked his opinion on them, he stated he’s all for them.
“With thirty-minute lunches, there will be fewer discipline problems and more time to engage in learning,” said Connors.
Connors is also planning on trying to improve graduation rates this year.
“In America, only 63% of a senior class will graduate. Why aren’t younger kids succeeding? It’s not just the school district’s problem; it’s everyone’s,” said Connors.
Lowry will see how Connors handles his new job as a vice principal and athletic director in the upcoming year.
