Music teacher Paul Criddle chose Andy Rodriguez as Performer of the Week for Swing Choir because of his performance at Honor Choir.

“He played the jumbo, an African drum, with the honor choir over at Elko. He did a really good job and made up his parts. He was key in making that work real well for the honor choir,” said Criddle.

He had a good experience when he went to his final honor choir as a senior.

“My last honor choir was one of the best experiences of my life, and I’ve learned many things from our conductor. It’s an experience I’ll never forget,” stated Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is very active in the music department.

“This is my second year of swing choir, and I’ve been in percussion since the second semester of my sophomore year,” said Rodriguez.

Students may recognize Rodriguez from his support in the pep band.

“I love playing the snare during the football and basketball games,” said Rodriguez.
