As the season for the girls comes to a close, Kyra Schiermeister has been recognized as a hard worker who is always willing to put in the effort for her coaches and her teammates. Coaches Megan Maga and Brandon Eastman are honored to have such an athlete on their team.

“Proven by her dedicated ability, Kyra would always show up to the field and give it her all” said Maga. “Kyra had a positive impact on the team, she would always bounce back no matter what difficulties she was experiencing.”

Sports teams tend to bring the athletes closer to one another, creating bonds that will last a lifetime. Coach Maga has seen these girls at their best and their worst, both times realizing how strong individuals they are becoming.

“Kyra was always one of the shy ones, but usually came around,” said Maga. “No matter how hard the practices became, this girl always pushed through to do her very best. I am so thankful to have coached an amazing group of young women.”

After making it to regionals, the girls really pushed themselves to perform to the best of their abilities. Schiermeister was an outfielder, and with a runner, this showed her athletic ability to face any challenge that was thrown her way.

“I enjoyed making memories and being surrounded by a great group of girls and coaches who helped me throughout my season,” said Schiermeister. “For these few months, I was surrounded by a team where everyone was always being supportive, cheerful, and made sure you had a smile on your face.”
