Lowry’s varsity volleyball season recently ended this past weekend with a 3-1 loss to Truckee in the Semifinals. However, Coach Brandon Eastman was especially proud of one individual, and that was Kepa Bengochea.
“This was her first year playing libero, and I thought she did a tremendous job for us,” said Eastman. “Especially this last weekend at Zone tournament, she was phenomenal.”
Bengochea is a valuable player and proves it with her intensity at Zone.
“She has anchored our back row all season long, both in serve receive and in defense,” said Eastman. “You could just feel the sense of urgency she plays with.”
Overall, Bengochea has been giving it her all this season.
“She’s such a competitor and kept us in so many rallies just by simply refusing to give up on the play,” said Eastman.
